Friends,
Although our numbers were relatively small (about a
dozen), we had a spirited group picketing the military recruiting
center at 1600 N. Broad St. yesterday from 4 - 6 pm. The recruiters
were "dialoguing" with the first few of us to arrive, thinking they
would have some fun. Their talking points were quite pathetic and they
went back inside when they got a bit dizzy. It became a little nervous
for them a short time later when more of us arrived and did a chant and
picket with signs in front of the center. They called the city police
who dutifully parked near-by and let us completely alone (since we were
not disruptive and merely exercising free speech). We distributed many
of the fact sheets prepared by Philly Against War (copy attached),
which is a good general use flier. Feel free to distribute it yourself.
